Warburtons Bagel Bonanza

Nine Adam Street
June 2019

Warburtons tasked Flavourology to create an immersive dining experience for press, influencers and consumers to promote the launch of the Warburtons full sized bagel. Working closely with PR agency freuds, Flavourology ensured the event aligned with the Robert De Niro TV ad whilst showcasing the versatility of bagels beyond breakfast time.

Flavourology created a four course, multi-room edible adventure transporting attendees through a variety of Great British settings, with a bagel inspired dish in each one.

Breakfast TV - Guests began their journey in a 1950s living room enjoying a Morecambe & Wise esque sketch through a giant TV kitchen set, before being invited to tuck into a Sweet Bagel ‘Eggy Bread’ - pan-fried cinnamon & raisin bagel in vanilla custard w/ poached plums, stem ginger syrup, honey’d granola & cinnamon cream, washed down with a pink grapefruit & ginger Bucks Fizz.

Lunch Break - next, Ellen the Social Secretary whisked everyone into the staff canteen for lunch and some bagel inspired games. Fish Fridays in the canteen meant guests could enjoy a Fish Finger Sandwich - bagels w/ parsley & lemon mayo, crispy cod, pea shoots & homemade pickles, with an Earl Grey & thyme tea gin cocktail.

Kids Tea Time - next up was play time at a kids’ after school club, where guests could enjoy colouring in bagels, dressing up as a baker or playing in the ball pit. Exhausting stuff called for a snack - Lemon Meringue Iced Gem bagel bites topped w/ lemon ice cream, lemon curd & torched lilac meringue with apple & pear barley water.

Last Orders - finally guests were treated to dinner in a traditional British pub before playing a spot of darts on a bagel dart board. Beer, Bagels & Bolton Balti - mustard seed bagel crisps w/ chicken baltic, puffed rice & cucumber yoghurt, washed down with a pale ale provided by Toast Ale using surplus Warburtons bread. Just as they were settling into a game of darts, Bob the Master Baker made a surprise appearance back from his bagel inspired travels.
